Next to Nusa Dua is Tanjung Benoa another hotspot for water-based activities. More fun awaits for adrenaline junkies when in this part of the island be it wake-boarding or the relatively new water sport known as jet-packing. Fly fishing is also popular as is parasailing which provides stunning bird's eye views of the island. In Bali, family resorts by the shore offer such activities and this area is no exception be it at Kuta Beach or the idyllic shoreline at Tuban. Home to properties such as Holiday Inn Resort Baruna Bali, this part of the island is also where once can take part in flyboarding, banana boat rides, snorkelling and deep-sea fishing; the latter gives you a chance to catch everything from giant trevally to tuna.

The Bukit Peninsula

If you want to enjoy more surfing in Bali, then the Bukit Peninsula is where you need to head to. This picturesque coastal area has some of the best surf beaches on the island, each providing their own unique challenges; these include the beaches at Dreamland, Uluwatu, Balangan and Padang Padang. Lying nestled between cliffs, the Padang Padang Beach is particularly popular and experienced local and international surfers can look forward to some amazing swells and waves.

5

Jimbaran Bay

For laid-back fun, Jimbaran Bay is an ideal destination to visit as part of your family holiday in Bali. The waters are relatively calm, though some surfing is available here too when the swells are strong. Most of the time the waters are suitable for swimming as well as activities like stand-up paddleboarding or kayaking which are perfect for some coastal adventures be it for couples, families or solo travellers. Of course, in between all these water sports you can chill-out at the gorgeous stretch of beach and just watch the waves roll gently to the shore.
