Mirissa is a small little town that makes for a wonderful beach holiday destination in beautiful Sri Lanka! However, it can be quite difficult to figure out what to do here as most of the attractions are little known to travellers. Refer to this guide for a few places to visit if you are travelling to Mirissa with kids.

This is one of the lesser-known attractions in Mirissa, but still, an exciting one to visit with kids who are often curious about wildlife. The snake farm is run by a doctor who also loves snakes. He rescues snakes and rehabilitates them. While doing this he also takes some poison from the creature to make an antidote for the venom. Apparently, there are about 350 people who die from snake bites per year in Sri Lanka, and this is the only man who is able to treat snake bites properly. The entrance fee costs LKR 1000, you'll see a large variety of snakes here.

This place is about a 10-minute drive away from hotels like Sri Sharavi Beach Villas & Spa. The kids are sure to love it with plenty of space to run about and shallow water to play in. You can also rent out snorkel equipment for LKR 400 if you plan on going for a snorkel.

Besides being a popular Instagram spot, it is also a good place to relax and soak in the tranquil views of the beach here.
