Ramboda Falls

Placed in a small town called Pussellawa, this wonderful waterfall is located in between two of the most famous cities in the highland, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya. Ramboda Falls is one of the highest waterfalls in Kandy and ranked the 11th highest waterfall on the island, one is bound to see this beautiful piece of nature while on your way to Kandy. The milky white waters will catch the eye in an instant. If one is off on an excursion to the site, be sure to keep close watch around as the place is said to be full of serene wildlife as well.

Hunas Falls

Located a little off Kandy, Hunas Falls in one of the most popular waterfalls that visitors and locals often visit when on a tour in the hill country of Sri Lanka. The falls are in Elkaduwa which is 22 kilometres away from the main city of Kandy. Surrounded by the rich, bright evergreens, this waterfall is quite unique. Rathna Ella

Also known as Navarthna Ella, there is a folk story that circles around this sight. It is said that there is a treasure of valuable gemstones hidden somewhere close to the waterfall. For those who'd like to visit, the trek to the waterfall leaves you with a wonderful experience. The water cascades down from a height of 101 metres and is absolutely beautiful! This waterfall is of great significance to the country as it is said to support the livelihood of people in the villages around, which is agriculture.

Huluganga Falls

Overflowing with an abundance of white, frothy waters, this fall drops down from a height of 75 metres. It is magical to the eye indeed! The village in which this waterfall is set in is 30 kilometres away from Kandy and shares the name of the waterfall, Huluganga village. Since the flow of water here is quite good, it is one of the natural waters works that provide water to the country and thus is an important one! The waterfall is surrounded by dark, large rocks which simply add to its beauty. Even special living species like birds can be spotted in trees in the surrounding area.
