But companies are stuck at even the very first phase currently: How to even properly and easily account for it?
The overall lack of transparency along with the complexity and price of environmental accounting makes such tools almost inexistent or not satisfactory enough. Because you cannot improve any KPI you don't track, chances are it won't work out if companies don't have a decent way to account their global emissions in an automated, easy and cheap way.

With GreenWise, you can automatically assess your company’s environmental impact by easily connecting third-party services to your GreenWise account. The rest is on them.
GreenWise supports third party services such as (but not limited to) AWS, TravelPerk, Slack, Zoom... Additionally, we offer ways to account easily for your company's office utility bills and employees commute.
More advanced features include:
Allows automated carbon emissions tracking based on your company bank transactions. However, they don't specify anything anything regarding what exactly they account, how and with what calculations. The UI also seems quite limited and requires quite some time to get comfortable with.
The tool is quite handy but requires a lot of time to get familiar with. Additionally, it also isn't automated at all and because of that, we ranked it last here. Data inputs have to be fully entered manually.
