Sadashiva is one of the forms of Lord Shiva which is considered the highest form. Sada is related to terms “always” and “forever” and Shiva means “auspicious”.
The Sadashiva has five faces that represent five senses and also have 10 arms. He is considered the processor of all three Gunas. People worship Sadashiva as the supreme lord, source, and destination of the entire creation. There is no beginning or source of lord Sadashiva and also considered as unborn.
Shivalingam has three parts; the lowest is Brahma-Pitha, the middle one is Vishnu-Pitha, and then the uppermost is called the Shiva-Pitha. The Shiva Linga is carved from the stone. This Linga can be very large and also can be very small, below to the knee-height.
