Top Things to do in Kuala Lumpur – Explore the city of KL

The city of Kuala Lumpur is an amazing place to visit when in Malaysia. There are so many attractions and things to do here that the list goes on and on. Since KL has been blessed with a multicultural community consisting of Indians, Chinese and Malay, there are plenty of interesting festivals as well. Here's a list of what to do in KL.

Visit the Petronas Towers

When you hear the name Kuala Lumpur, the attraction that immediately comes to mind is the giant twin chrome towers that overlook the entire city! The towers are connected at the 41st and 42nd floors with a sky bridge and deck that is 58 metres long! The Petronas Towers are 452 meters in height and was the world's tallest building until 2004 when it was surpassed by Taipei's 101 building standing at 508 meters in height. The architecture of the two structures was inspired by Islamic architecture.

Visit Menara KL Tower

This tower too is a tall one at 421 meters in height. The deck here is about 100 meters higher than that of the Petronas Towers. This structure was also built along the lines of the Islamic architectural style with Arabic inscriptions and other pointers! The structure also has something called Muqarnas which is used in traditional Islamic architectural designs. The highlight here is the revolving restaurant that lures in many of those luxury travellers for a grand experience.

Chinatown

If you are looking out to experience a burst of culture, the place to be is Chinatown in Petaling Street. This was once a place where tapioca-four production took place. However today, it is a buzzing place where one can find the best deals when it comes to purchasing items. Chinatown is all about oriental culture and history. Not to mention, the amazing street food that you will find as you walk through the streets in the evening! You are sure to be hungry when the pleasant aromas fill your nostrils. The attraction is just a 9-minute drive from properties the likes of PARKROYAL Kuala Lumpur.

Batu Caves

This is actually a huge limestone rock that has a set of amazing caves with interesting rock formations that are sure to fascinate you. On top of this, it is also a religious site and the place gets very crowded during the Thaipusam festival. Cathedral cave is the largest cave of all with a ceiling of about 100 meters high. It houses many Hindu shrines within it. Overall the caves are said to be about 400 million years old. The colossal gold statue at the entrance to the cave is simply magnificent and is the highlight of your visit.

KL is also a city that is full of wonderful theme parks especially if you are travelling with family. There are so many interesting rides to hop on from water slides to roller coasters and a manmade lake to ride a boast on.
