Kahoot | learning games, make learning awesome

Kahoot is a study platform that is designed to take multiple choice quizzes and turn them into a game. It allows students to work together in teams or on their own and promotes a healthy form of competition. Kahoot is both student and teacher centered because it turns what would be a normally stressful quiz and turns into a game for the student, and provides teachers with immediate class response.

2

Class Dojo

Class Dojo

Class dojo is a simple and fun platform that allows teachers to manage / keep up with behavior, attendance, and student participation. ClassDojo also works as a communication tool, the platform allows teachers to share pictures and announcements with parents in a format that resembles social media. I would have to say this platform is teacher centered, because each aspect of this platform is assisting the teacher in some way by making communication, progress, and behavior monitoring easier.

3

5

BrainPop

BrainPop

This is one that I would definitely use in my classroom, many of my teachers used this for my classes when I was growing up and it made class more entertaining. This platform allows the class to view a short video on the subject and complete activities related to the video. Some examples of the tasks that are a part of these lessons would be quizzes, matching, filling out charts, and more. I believe this platform is more student centered because it focuses on teaching the lesson in a more effective way while allowing students to practice immediately after learning the content.

6

NearPod

NearPod

This is a platform that allows teachers to include students in interactive lessons. While students are using a nearpod the teacher has full control over the student's devices. I believe this platform is teacher centered because it allows the teacher to easily involve their students and stay in control of what they can and can't do whilst going over the lesson. This platform is also student-centered because it allows them to participate and interactive lessons while being guided to correct activities/sources.

7

Quizlet

Quizlet

Quizlet is a platform that I still use and have always used. It allows students and teachers to create flashcards, study sheets, and other study tools. The platform publicly shares these based on subject. By sharing these study tools publicly it allows students who may not be involved in the same class to look to previous study tools made by other students and teachers. I use this platform when I am running low on time to create a study sheet. I believe this platform is both student and teacher centered because both parties benefit from having the ability to post, share, and review study tools.
