Today, April 2, 2013, is World Autism Awareness Day, as designated by the United Nations. Every year, autism organizations around the world celebrate the day with unique fundraising and awareness-raising events, and these events lead into Autism Awareness Month. The US recognizes April as a special opportunity for everyone to educate the public about autism and issues within the autism community.
