Known as New Zealand's adventure capital; Queenstown is very deserving of its title. It is truly a place of breathtaking beauty with the spirit of adventure simply alive in the air.

Lake Wakatipu

New Zealand's longest and third largest lake; Waktipu's shores are welcoming to those who seek refreshing air and beautiful sights. The area is a common haunt for the lover of long contemplative walks, the picnic enthusiast and the guy who can't help but go cycling in nature. It is one of the top spots to visit to understand the vibe of Queenstown.

Bob's Peak

The first thing you want to do when you get to Queenstown is taking a hike up to Bob's Peak. It offers the best panoramic view of the surrounding area and is not difficult to get to either. You can hike along the tiki trail on a self-guided tour or you could take the Sky Gondola; either is fine you will get great views whichever you choose.

Queenstown Gardens are located at the heart of Queenstown. The gardens are well-maintained and immaculate in their design. They offer a chance to escape for a bit as you walk along with it many avenues. It's a haven for relaxation and contemplation. Another thrill-seeker hotspot; Shotover River spans nearly 75km and passes through all kinds of terrain. The river has many great spots to go rafting and jet boating.

Located a bit off the beaten track Nevis Valley is the adventure/thrill-seekers destination. You will have to take a special shuttle to get there but once you do the world's third-highest bungee platform awaits you (134m). Nevis Valley is also home to the tallest rope swing in the world.

Marine Parade

Marine Parade is a calm and quiet beach town with its famous and iconic Bathhouse cafe and solemn Fallen Soldiers Memorial. It is a place often frequented by the locals during summer months and it plays host to many festivals such as the annual Winter Festival with its dazzling opening fireworks display and New Year's Celebration.

The Kawarau River

The Kawarau River flows from Lake Wakatipu and drains it to the sea. The rugged terrain the river has to pass through creates rapids and narrow stretches which are ideal for river-boarding, jet boating, white-water rafting and river surfing. The Kawarau Gorge Suspension Bridge was actually the birthplace of commercial bungee jumping.
