We often don't hear about the people of color who have shaped America's natural spaces—and we still have a long way to go when it comes to representation in environmental and adventure media. Carolyn Finney, a professor of geography at the University of Kentucky, explains how we can do better.
I will use this tool as a form of representation and understanding in my classroom. In the future I plan on teaching in a state where there is a low percentage of minorities, therefore in having this my students will be able identify with and understand cultures of many minorities.

I will use this resource to properly prepare myself and my teaching space for my future students. In my future classroom, I will happily use ClassDojo. ClassDojo will not only help the children stay motivated and have fun, but I will be able to consistent communication with parents. In our class, we have discussed how important parent involvement is, and how it benefits both the child and parent to know that the child is safe and that their progress is being tracked.

In my future classroom I plan on teaching children all types of disabilities, and this video with help me formulate different accommodations for each child. As discussed in class, every child goes at their own rate, therefore understanding how they learn will allow the teacher to help them succeed.

In my future classroom, I plan on using this resource to help the students understand inequality and activist figures that helped shape of country. In relation to our class, it is important o establish a sense of comfort and understanding in the classroom. By offering books on diversity, students are unknowingly teaching themselves about adversity and different cultures.

I will use this resource to help explain away misconceptions and develop an understanding of diversity. As discussed in class, there are multiple ways people type others through stereotypes and generalizations.

Stereotype Examples

The following stereotype examples illustrate just what a stereotype is. Racial remarks, sexual remarks, and gender remarks are the biggest stereotypes.
As someone who constantly undergoes harsh stereotypes, I ensure that I use this resource in my classroom to eliminate its presence in the classroom. In relation to our class, we discussed stereotypes multiple times, and how its effects negatively impact students in and out of class.

In regard to our class, it has discussed that students not only learn form the teacher but from their environment and each other.
