Best Dive Sites in Mozambique - Best places to go diving in Mozambique

Mozambique is known to be one of the best places to go diving as you can witness the thriving marine life as well as stunning strips of corrals.

Bazaruto Archipelago

The Bazaruto Archipelago is located between Madagascar and Mozambique and diving in this location will leave you awestruck. At this location, you will not only get to see a wide range of sea life but also protected reefs which are blooming and thriving. The pristine sandy beach is a great location to relax on while you take a break to go diving again. Most Mozambique resorts encourage their customers to go diving at Bazaruto Archipelago due to its natural beauty.

Ponta Mamoli

Ponta Mamoli is located about 100 kilometres away from the capital city, Maputo and is the perfect location if you prefer secluded diving sites that are not crowded. Since the area is located a little further away from the city life there are not many who opt to go diving here but it is a wonderful treat for those who commit to it as the turquoise blue water and the white sandy beaches welcome you from the get-go.

Ponta do Ouro and Ponta Malongane

If you fancy swimming with sea turtles, multicoloured fish such as game fish, butterflyfish and other tropical fish you will love the experience you will gain at Ponta do Ouro and Ponta Malongane which are two new diving sites. Although these are located a little away from the South African border these diving sites are worth the visit as you might even get to swim with some dancing dolphins while you are diving.

Inhaca Island

Inhaca Island is not only a dicing destination but it is also popular for snorkelling. Located only a few miles away from Maputo those who are vacationing at resorts such as the Anantara Medjumbe Island Resort or any other resort in the vicinity can take a taxi to Inhaca Island. Although it is a delightful diving site, first-timers and inexperienced divers are not encouraged to go dicing here as the depth can go up to about 30 metres and the water temperature can be around 27 degrees celsius.

Pemba Island

Pemba island is a nature lover's paradise. If you love a good hike, out in the open finding your way through the trees and bushes you will love the Pemba Island. While the diving site is exciting and filled with marine life and untouched coral reefs the hike to the diving site is just as exciting. Many who love hiking and diving do not miss out on the opportunity to go to the location and cool off by diving to explore.

Nacala Bay

Nacala Bay is the perfect spot for beginners to go explore and experienced divers to enjoy to the most. The water clarity allows divers to witness everything in such detail and the corrals and fish swimming around the reefs are a delight to see.

Tofo and Barra

Tofo and Barra is the perfect location for a group to go to as it has perfect diving sites as well as stunning beaches to explore. For those who wish to explore the unseen underwater world can five in and those who wish to be basking in the sun can do accordingly.
