As elaborate as the name, this elegant palace is simply stunning! Its noted as the grandest of all South Korea's palaces and is better known as the Northern Palace; a name you can pronounce to ask for directions! The Korean name of the place translates to 'Palace of Shinning Happiness' and indeed the complex exudes an ambience of elegance and riches. Destroyed by Japanese invaders, the palace and its over 7,000 rooms were restored by King Gojong. Located there is the National Folk Museum and National Palace Museum.
