Top 6 beaches to visit in Cambodia – The coastal charm of Cambodia

Cambodia has an eclectic mix of attractions and is inviting to every type of traveller. While the country's main draw is its ancient ruins, Cambodia also has some excellent coastal destinations.

1

Coral Beach

Koh Ta Kiev is located off the coast of Southwest Cambodia. Though the island is going through some development, it has managed to retain its natural beauty. The island is home to several beaches, and Coral Beach is one of them; it has the most scenic and tranquil setting. Around the beach are several food places that offer an excellent mix of cuisines, and drinks are great too. This is where you should be if you want to get away from the bustle and fall into a peaceful reverie. But if you are up for some exertions, you can try snorkelling, spearfishing and cliff diving, if not you can spend a few hours on a hammock all relaxed and comfortable.

2

Otres Beach

This is another beach in Cambodia that's a bit similar to Coral Beach in terms of atmosphere. Otres Beach doesn't get very crowded, which is perfect for someone looking to get away from all the commotion. On the perimeter of the beach are numerous hotels, resorts and restaurants. The beach touts the right elements for windsurfing and kayaking. If you are at the beach on a Saturday night, make sure you visit Otres Market. With food stalls and live music, the market offers a unique and exciting night out.

3

Lazy Beach

Koh Rong Samloem is another Cambodian island with numerous tourist attractions, and Lazy Beach is among them. Lazy Beach falls among Siem Reap attractions, and it is also an easy journey from FCC Angkor Managed by Avani Hotels & Resorts. You find several beachside bungalows overlooking the blue waters of the ocean, and there's a jungle terrain just off the beach. Not many tourists bother making the trip to Lazy Beach, which means that the beach doesn't get overly crowded. You can try snorkelling here, or relax on a hammock enjoying the cool sea breeze. The bar and the restaurants will keep you sustained with food and drinks throughout the day.

4

Sok San Beach

Koh Rong is an island that has a long strip of coastline and charming beaches. One of the most popular beaches is Sok San Beach. The beach is known to locals and tourists who frequent the island as 7km Beach or Long Beach. You can get to the beach by boat, or you can walk. Sok San Beach was once a site for the television show Survivor, which propelled the number of visitors the beach receives. The waters around the beach have snorkelling possibilities.

5

Sokha Beach

The beach is privately owned, and so visitors have to pay an entrance fee to gain access to the beach. Sokha Beach is one of the cleanest beaches in Cambodia. You can lay on the soft beach sand and embrace the tropical sun, or you can try snorkelling. There are several local restaurants around serving delicious food.

6

Victory Beach

Sihanoukville is the most famed beach destination in Cambodia. It is home to several charming beaches, and Victory Beach is among them. One of the interesting features of the beach is the Sihanoukville Port; if you spend the day at the beach, you will see several boats come into the port and depart. The line of palm trees provides the shade needed on a hot Cambodian day, and the seafood eateries make sure that your seafood cravings are sated.
