The national parks are underrated

There are six national parks in total spread across the country. The Gorongosa National Park used to be popular for the safaris but was then criticized due to the cruelty posed upon the animals. However, with time the national park has developed and is one of the must-visit locations in the country as you are able to see a large variety of animals roaming around living in their natural habitat. The park is home to lions, hippos, buffaloes, and rhinos with ongoing conservation and breeding programmes contributing to the increasing population of the wildlife. There are many safaris you can opt for depending on the sightings you wish for on the safaris. If you are an animal lover then the early morning drive or the evening drive would be the best options.

Architecture from the colonial era

Despite the fact that the colonisation by the Portuguese did have some negative bearings on the development and history of Mozambique, the architecture in the country thrived during this era. There are several churches that were built by the Portuguese which are still intact and are known to be popular tourist sights. The Church of San Antonio de la Polana and the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception are two of the most prominent religious buildings from the colonial era.
