4 Fun things to do in Hoi An – The most irresistible town in Vietnam

Vietnam is an amazing country which has over the years become one of the most visited places in south-east Asia. Though most tourists flock to Hanoi, Hoi An is a town you shouldn't miss.

1

Visit the beaches

Hoi An has so many amazing hotels it might be hard to make a pick. But if you're looking for the best Hoi An Hotel you might want to consider Anantara Hoi An Resort. But apart from having amazing places to stay Hoi An boasts a whole bunch of spectacular beaches. An Bang and Cua Dai beaches are respectively 3km and 4km away from the ancient town of Hoi An and quite easily reached, they are considered the best beaches in the region and quite easily listed amongst the best beaches in Vietnam so when you visit don't be a spoilsport head down to either of these strips of paradise and soak up the sun and skip in the turquoise water and just while away the day. You won't regret it.

2

Eat at the restaurants

If you're planning a trip to Vietnam we all know it's mainly for the food and its nothing to be ashamed of, pigging out is part of the game. Vietnamese cuisine is some of the best in the world. The flavours are exotic just as the ingredients and the restaurants in Hoi An are some of the best in the country with amazing local dishes served, sometimes with a regional twist but always authentic. Don't be surprised if you spend most of your time in this town skipping from one restaurant to another.

3

Shop for a custom-made suit or dress

You probably want to get a little shopping done while in Vietnam – why wouldn't you; a few souvenirs, a few more things for you and maybe some things to take home for your friends back home who weren't lucky enough to come on a trip to Vietnam. Well you might want to avoid splurging in the big city for clothes and wait till you get to Hoi An, this town is just full of amazing tailor shops; over 400 actually. There are shops for all price ranges but remember that you get what you pay. Some of the best shops to visit are; BeBe, Yaly Couture and Bao Khan Silk.

4

Take a day trip to Danang

There are plenty of things to do in Hoi An but while you're in the area it's highly recommended you go for a day visit at least to nearby Danang. It is one of the largest cities in Vietnam and has radically modernised in recent times. There is so much to discover and experience in Danang from the hip young locals to the hidden gems such as the Dragon Bride and Cao Dai Temple. But just strolling around the city you can get a feel of how the old and new merge and what this city once was and what it is becoming it does bring even a visitor from the other end of the earth a vague sense of nostalgia.
