Desaru is a seasonal wonderland on the eastern shoreline of the Malaysian Peninsula. Though the monsoon brings strong winds and bigger waves the sun always shines in this part of paradise.

Desaru Coast Adventure Waterpark

Located just a short way away from Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas; a truly spectacular Desaru resort, Desaru Coast Adventure Waterpark is a pioneer in the region. Not only is it one of the biggest waterpark's in the world it boasts having the largest wave pool in south-east Asia and can accommodate over 12,000 people. The park has 5 unique zones and is set amidst the backdrop of a traditional Malaysian fishing village. Apart from the region's first wave coaster the park has a 170m-long tidal wave beach and has more than enough dry and wet rides for everyone to enjoy.

Desaru Fruit Farm

Malaysia is anyways famous for its abundance of unique and colourful tropical fruits however this farm takes it to the next level. The Desaru Fruit Farm has won many accolades and awards and is spread across over 100 acres and has nearly 120 different varieties of tropical fruits. Visitors are allowed to sample these delights before heading out to venture among the beautifully cultivated avenues of the farm. The farm also has a mini petting zoo with monkeys, rabbits, ducks, goats and tortoises and also a beautiful Koi pond.

Desaru Beach

Desaru Beach is one of the best along Malaysia's east coast – it is very popular with both locals and tourists. The white sandy beaches and coral reefs are dreamlike and there are so many activities you can try out while visiting; sea-diving, canoeing or even surfing. But more than anything it's a great place to relax and there are more than enough amazing resorts to stay along the beach.

Teluk Sengat Crocodile Farm

The farm is home to very large and quite old saltwater crocodiles who can be quite dangerous to approach unsupervised. However, the farm also has many young hatchlings visitors can touch and take photos with. If you are feeling adventurous you can always venture deeper into the park and catch a glimpse of the gigantic scary ones also. But go with one of the guides – these crocs can be dangerous.

Desaru Ostrich Farm

Maybe not every animal lover's ideal holiday activity but Desaru Ostrich Farm does offer a chance for visitors to interact and get up and close with theses giant majestic birds. The farm has over 100 birds and has quite a nice souvenir shop where you can get nice hand-crafted memorabilia including ostrich eggs. For a little extra money, you can even have a go at riding one of these beauties.

Desaru Firefly Valley Leisure Park

Firefly Valley is a magical place – there is simply no other way of putting it. At night the park is lit up by thousands if not millions of fireflies. It is straight from the pages of a fantasy novel; a great place for a little romance one could say. The park offers two options; to either enjoy a boat ride or to walk in the mangrove forests – both are simply stunning. This park is definitely worth a visit.
