One of the few botanical gardens comparable to those in the west; Lumpini is truly a place of calm. Named after the birthplace of the Buddha the park was opened in 1920 by King Vajiravudh –oh whom a large statue can be seen on the premises. The urban park has a large artificial lake and pagodas situated in various parts of the garden. Many locals flock here to participate in the outdoor dancing classes while children enjoy the many playgrounds. It a great place to have a picnic and watch people enjoy pleasant evenings in Bangkok. If you're feeling up for a little exercise maybe go for a run here and keep your eyes open for the monitor lizards that call the park home.

Located on the 61st floor of one of the city's most prestigious hotels this one of a kind bar serves an amazing array of cocktails and delicious meals. There is no roof or any cover to hinder the stunning views of the city and it is quite a breathtaking sight. If you have a fear of heights this might not be your cup of tea.

This restaurant does an amazing job of elevating Thai cuisine to a very sophisticated level. Both an A la carte' and set menu are available. If you're in Sathorn its one place you can't miss going to at least once.
