Sathorn is one of Bangkok's busiest districts with dazzling high-rises and scenic cityscapes. The area has many famous restaurants and pubs. It is one of the city's favourite after-hours locales.

M.R. Kukrit's House

Anantara Sathorn is undeniably a Sathorn hotel Bangkok is proud of. It is in close vicinity to all major attractions in the city including M.R. Kukrit's house. This complex is named after a famous Prime Minister of Thailand and functions as a heritage museum. M.R. Kukrit was a poet, writer, politician and national artist; the museum follows his intriguing life and offers an ode to his achievements. The museum is unique as it is set to resemble a traditional Thai household and offers a serene respite from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. The museum has an absolutely enchanting library, and also many historical and cultural artefacts on display.

Lumpini Park

One of the few botanical gardens comparable to those in the west; Lumpini is truly a place of calm. Named after the birthplace of the Buddha the park was opened in 1920 by King Vajiravudh –oh whom a large statue can be seen on the premises. The urban park has a large artificial lake and pagodas situated in various parts of the garden. Many locals flock here to participate in the outdoor dancing classes while children enjoy the many playgrounds. It a great place to have a picnic and watch people enjoy pleasant evenings in Bangkok. If you're feeling up for a little exercise maybe go for a run here and keep your eyes open for the monitor lizards that call the park home.

Vertigo Bar

Bangkok is famous for its rooftop bars but none is as renowned as Vertigo. Located on the 61st floor of one of the city's most prestigious hotels this one of a kind bar serves an amazing array of cocktails and delicious meals. There is no roof or any cover to hinder the stunning views of the city and it is quite a breathtaking sight. If you have a fear of heights this might not be your cup of tea.

This glamorous venue boasts a very unique menu which is influenced by both gourmet cuisine and Thai street food. This restaurant does an amazing job of elevating Thai cuisine to a very sophisticated level. Both an A la carte' and set menu are available. If you're in Sathorn its one place you can't miss going to at least once.
