BS4 Cars Discounts & Offers in India | Droom Discovery

The Indian Government is regulating implementation of BS6 emission norms from the 1st of April 2020 for all the vehicles. It will apply to both petrol as well as diesel models. That means you won’t be able to register any BS4 car or bike post the deadline and automakers are keen to clear their existing BS4 vehicles inventory. As a result, automobile brands are offering bumper offers on their various products but the discount rates vary from dealer to dealer. Below is a complete list of discounts being offered currently by the manufacturers in the country.

Next-Gen Hyundai Creta BS6 in India

Vehicle launches are one of the most awaited events in the Automobile industry and 2020 will be the year when Hyundai makes its presence felt again in the compact SUV segment. All-New Hyundai Creta is getting launched today and it’s one of the most anticipated launches in recent years.Though the launch was supposed to be held on the 17th of March 2020, but due to Coronavirus the event got pre-poned to the 16th of March.  It’s predecessor Hyundai Creta had clocked good sales and had sold over 5 lakh units since its debut way back in 2014. All- New Hyundai Creta is BS6 compliant and will come equipped with 3 powertrain options. Available in petrol and diesel variants, Next Gen Hyundai Creta will offer a new 1.5 l MPi (BS6) Petrol (6MT/ IVT); new 1.5 l U2 VGT (BS6) Diesel (6MT/ 6AT) and a new 1.4 l Kappa Turbo GDi (BS6) Petrol (7DCT). 

Maruti Suzuki Manesar Plant Granted Permission to Resume Work

Maruti Suzuki has been granted permission by the Haryana state government to restart work at its Manesar production facility on a single shift basis. The company has two manufacturing units in Haryana in Manesar and Gurgaon. The permission to resume work at Manesar plant has geen granted as it is outside the limits of Gurugram Municipal Corporation. However, the company's official spokesperson said that the decision regarding the resumption of production has not been taken yet. The production was suspended at Maruti's both plants exactly one month ago due to COVID-19.

Kia Sonet to Have a Different Name for India?

Kia Motors has been working on the Sonet sub-compact SUV, which will be its third product in the Indian market. But there is a bit of disappointing news now for the South-Korean automaker as the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion which falls under the Ministry of Industry & Commerce of the Government of India has rejected the 'Sonet' moniker. The company had originally submitted three applications with different names which were Sonet, Kia Sonet and Sonet Concept. Though, we haven't been able to find out the exact reason behind the objection in 'Sonet' moniker.

Nex-Gen Hyundai Creta BS6 VS BS4 Differences

While the 2020 new-gen Hyundai Creta is launched today at an introductory price of Rs 9.99 lakhs - Rs 17.20 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom), Hyundai has announced massive discounts on the BS4 model. The BS4 model that was priced between Rs 9.99-15.72 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom) is now being offered with a total discount of Rs 1.50 Lakhs. The second-gen SUV comes with BS6 compliant engines along with substantial cosmetic updates. While these changes do make the BS6 model enticing but the question is whether you should wait for the new model or go for the present model which is up for grabs at a huge discount. New Honda City Price in India

New Honda City 2020 launch is one of the much-awaited events in the Indian automobile industry but it has hit a stumbling block due to the ongoing Coronavirus impact. Honda Cars India had planned a media drive in Goa to showcase the New Honda City 2020 but the Coronavirus epidemic has put water to this plan. As per the media reports streaming in, the launch of the new-gen Honda City can be expected in April 2020. The new sedan was recently spotted testing without camouflage on the Indian roads. It was first launched in Thailand last year. Honda City locks horns with the Toyota Yaris, Maruti Ciaz, Hyundai Verna while being offered in three variants V, VX, and ZX, with CVT options for all three trims. 

Hyundai Creta BS6 Launched in India

Hyundai India has finally launched the highly anticipated 2020 new-gen Hyundai Creta BS6 at a starting price of Rs 9.99 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) in the country. It has crossed the 14000+ booking mark with its launch today, with 50 per cent being for BS6 diesel variants. Being showcased at the Auto Expo last month, it has been introduced in both petrol and diesel fuel trims with BS6 compliant engines. The 2020 new-gen Hyundai Creta BS6 has already raked in over 14,000 bookings with more than 50 per cent of buyers opting for diesel variants. Being originally launched in 2015 and with nearly 4.67 Lakh units sold till date, Hyundai Creta launching in India will give nightmares to the likes of Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier, MG Hector and Jeep Compass in the Indian market.

Volkswagen T-Roc Launched in India

Volkswagen India has launched the T-Roc SUV today at an introductory price of Rs 19.99 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom) in the country. It is the company’s second SUV launch in India. Volkswagen T-Roc launch took place digitally due to the current coronavirus outbreak. Showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo last month, the premium midsize SUV has been introduced in the petrol trim with a BS6 compliant engine. It will compete against the likes of Jeep Compass, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta and Tata Harrier. VW T-Roc has been imported to India via the CBU route under the 2500 cars import rule. The bookings for the SUV had already commenced in February and It has raked in over 500 bookings so far.

Nissan New Compact SUV Price

Stricter BS6 Emission norms will be enforced from 1st April 2020 in India for regulating the toxic air pollution caused by vehicles. Automobile companies are actively launching BS6 compliant vehicles while offering heavy discounts on unsold BS4 vehicles. Nissan India is offering discounts on selected BS4 models to clear their unsold inventory before the sale and purchase of BS4 becomes illegal post 1st April 2020. The company through its dealerships is selling out unsold BS4 vehicles but to the surprise of many, haven’t launched any BS6 compliant models in India so far. 

New 2021 Hyundai Elantra Launched in India

The all-new 2021 Hyundai Elantra has been officially unveiled in Hollywood  with deliveries starting next month in South Korea. The India launch though will take place somewhere around second half of 2021. Though, America would get it a bit earlier than India, i.e. around Q4 2020. Being codenamed as Hyundai CN7, the seventh-gen Elantra will be introduced in a hybrid avatar for the first time. Official : Maruti Alto K10 Discontinued in India | Droom Discovery

Maruti Suzuki has officially discontinued the Alto K10 hatchback in the Indian market post the implementation of BS6 emission norms from April 1, 2020. The company's website no longer shows the Alto K10. Though, Maruti has already updated the Alto 800 with a BS6 compliant 796cc 3-cylinder petrol engine which delivers top power and peak torque of 47bhp and 69Nm, respectively. Maruti Alto 800 is priced between Rs 2.99-3.58 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi).

Mahindra Alturas BS6 Launched at Rs 28.69 Lakhs

Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the BS6 Alturas SUV at a sticker price of Rs 28.69 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) in the Indian market. It has been offered in two trim levels: 2WD and 4WD. The BS6 compliant model is nearly Rs 1 Lakh expensive than the BS4 iteration. The company had also launched the BS6 compliant version of its two SUVs - Scorpio and XUV500 - earlier today. The BS6 Mahindra Alturas will take on the likes of BS6 Ford Endeavour and BS6 Toyota Fortuner while Isuzu is yet to update the MU-X with a BS6 compliant engine.
