The name does justice to this beautiful stretch of beach. The calm sea certainly does resemble a marbled surface and is one of the most relaxing spots on the island. The name, however, is attributed to the way the golden beach glistens under the rays of the sun, and you won't find a cleaner spot. The beach is maintained by the Sri Lanka Air Force and is situated close to the famous Kinniya Bridge; which happens to be the longest on the island. Nature lovers, don't forget to hike to the top of Diamond Hill, for expansive views of the Trincomalee Harbour, ranked amongst the top 5 most beautiful natural harbours in the world.
