Top 5 Family Activities to do at the Entrance NSW – Explore the many delights of the Central Coast.

Located in the Central Coast of New South Wales, Entrance is a town and district surrounded by water on three sides. There are many interesting attractions for families in this quaint and peaceful town, such as pelican feeding, beachside pools and parks.

1

A day at the Memorial Park

For families with young children, a day at the Memorial Park will surely keep everyone entertained. There are two playgrounds and Vera's Water Garden will keep the kids entertained for hours at a time. During weekends and summer holidays the park becomes even more exciting with additions such as jumping castles, amusement rides, a carousel and even a little train.

2

Feeding pelicans

The Entrance is the best place to see pelicans so up close and perhaps its biggest attraction. The allotted feeding time is 3.30 pm but it may begin half an hour early, so go there by 3 to get a good spot as it can get crowded. The pelicans will arrive one by one like clockwork exactly at 3.00 pm and patiently wait to be fed. The volunteers that carry out the feeding will explain interesting facts about the birds and how and why this ritual started.

3

The Baths

The Entrance Baths are located in a spectacular setting just near the sea. Relax in the pools while enjoying the sea breezes and sound of the waves. The main is a 50 m Olympic pool, there is also a smaller pool and one for toddlers. The area is well equipped with all amenities such as changing rooms, toilets, booths to sit, read or just relax, and a lifeguard station from September to April. Or just head down to the beach and relax there!

4

Entrance esplanade

This 6 km stretch starting from Memorial Park up to Surf Life Saving Club is a very pleasant walk overlooking the seas. You will be able to see the channel scattered with anglers and pelicans and parts of Tuggerah Beach along the way. Many snapshots and posters recount the history of the area. Kids are allowed to ride bicycles along the path as well.

5

Tuggerah Cycleway

A favourite attraction among many locals and tourists, this lovely spot is located away from the main roads close to the Lake Tuggerah. The cycle path is the ideal way for toddlers and kids to explore the surroundings. There is a playground and toilets along the cycle track, and views of the lake await you as well. You can also cycle to the BMX track in Saltwater Creek Reserve in Long Jetty, which is a small town situated right next to The Entrance. At this town, you will find trendy stores, cafes, quirky vintage stores and second-hand shops. With many central coast resorts in this part of NSW, this is an ideal destination for a family getaway with many lovely resorts to choose from such as Oaks Waterfront Resort.
