Golf courses in Phuket – Discover the redevelopment projects of Phuket

Phuket is a popular destination among Asian golfers. The island has six different golf courses, all with different features. Every resort on the island is located close to these golf courses.

1

Blue Canyon

This is one of the most famous golf courses found in Phuket, its fame skyrocketed after hosting Johnny Walker Classic twice. Along with two 18-hole courses, Blue Canyon offers a spectacular, natural setting; these golf coursess are considered the hilliest in Phuket. The first 18-hole course is more competitive than the other, and this is where the world registered Tiger Wood's talents. The location of Blue Canyon attracts numerous golfing events to the island, as well as crowds of Asian golfers. Blue Canyon makes the area appealing to those who are on the lookout for a Phuket real estate for sale, and ventures like Avadina Hills by Anantara are sure to reap benefits.

2

Phuket Country Club

Rehabilitating tracts of the island that were tarnished by tin mining, Phuket Country Club is one of the first golf courses on the island that introduced the fascination of golf to locals. The place is set against a mountainous backdrop, and the amazing vistas surrounding the place makes it one of a kind. The slopes reach into the lagoons which were resulted by tin mining, they were once considered harmful to health, but now you can see groups of swans inhabiting the lagoons. Due to its location, the club is popular among locals from around Patong Beach and Phuket Town; this is one reason why the club sees more local visitors on weekdays than tourists.

3

Laguna Golf Club

The club is located right behind several tourist hotels, and a tourist can walk to the place within a minute or two. This golf course meanders through the reestablished tin lagoons and private houses that were a by-product of the lagoon's living concept. Even if the golf course is flat and not as challenging as other golf courses, one can see that a lot of effort, planning and time have gone into the landscaping of the place.

4

Loch Palms Golf Club

This is a double golf course that converges with Phuket mountain range. The 36 holes are spread over undulated hillsides, and the bottom tracts are filled by the lagoon. You find many houses on the perimeters which were a measure taken to reclaim the area that was once succumbed to tin mining. Red Mountain is the name of the second golf course, which at times promoted as a different one from Loch Palms Golf Club, but bear in mind that it is the same golf club. The location of the place is such that it can be accessed from anywhere.

5

Mission Hills Golf Club at Phuket's northeast

Providing easy access to those staying around the beaches of Nai Yang, north of Kamala, Mai Khao and Bang Tao, Mission Hills Golf Club is a relatively new addition to the list of golf courses found on the island. This golf course was developed using the underdeveloped portion of the island occupied by rubber plantations and fishing communities. The ground is flat, but the part that runs along the coast is interesting. The place also offers spectacular views of Phang Nga Bay and mountains found in the vicinity.

6

Phukana Golf Club in Chalong

This is the latest addition to Phuket's golf frenzy. With a nine-hole course and a driving range, Phukana Golf Club is set within the island's main maintain range; access is possible from Chao Fah Road West. This part of the island was made unsuited to living by coal mining, but a project was brought forward that aimed to rehabilitate the lagoon and benefit from the water hazards rendered by mining, Phukana Golf Club was born out of that initiation. There's a track that crosses over to the mountain from the valley which will be turned it to a real road in the near future; this track makes the place easily accessible to those from around Patong beaches.
