Attention all Utah graduating seniors: College is just around the corner. Are you ready for it? In high school your education is planned out for you, but that is no longer the case. For the first time the choice is up to you. Consider these things while preparing yourself:
Many people attend traditional universities or community colleges in Utah. These are great options for students who want to obtain a four-year degree, but what about students who are seeking a degree that will lead them to a technical career? Utah also offers many technical colleges, AmeriTech being one of the best.
If you already know the career you want to be in, enroll in a technical college or register for your degrees prerequisites. If you are not sure what you want to do yet don’t be worried, you still have time. Register for a variety of classes that interest you to help you decide.
Different careers require different types and a different amount of schooling. For example if you want to work as a social worker in the state of Utah you need to obtain a masters degree. Knowing how much school is needed will give you a head start. This way you won’t waste any time.
If you know what you’re planning on majoring in take a community class or workshop during the summer. For those planning on going into graphic design it may be a good idea to take a photo shop class or a class on other related topics. Contact your local community or tech center for details.
AmeriTech College specializes in health care education in the medical, dental, fitness, and nursing fields.
