So it may not be something you really want to think about but registering your funeral wishes not only ensures you get the service you want, it also makes the whole ordeal of planning your funeral easier for your loved ones. So here's a few things to think about that may be included when registering your funeral wishes.
Whilst many of us are christened into a certain religion we may not want our funeral service to reflect this, so it is important to make sure this is written within your wishes. Similarly if you would like a religious funeral ensure this is included in your wishes. Some funeral directors will also ask you to name the person you would like to lead the service if they are available.
This is one of the most important pieces of information you can give on these forms so always make sure you have filled this in. Many people who have attended a certain church for years would often wish to have the service carried out there, so make sure the name and address of the church is included.
What to do with the ashes after a cremation can cause arguments in families as different people have different ideas of where they should be scattered. If you know where you would like the ashes to go then make sure this information is included within your form.
This is the place to list any music you would like used within your funeral service. There is often a piece of music played when the coffin is brought into the service, and also another piece at the end of the service. If you wish to have a religious service there will usually be hymns sung during this, however if it is a non-religious service it is more normal for songs to be played or a singer to sing.
This is very important to some people as they would much rather have money donated to a charity than see it spent on flowers. Some like a mixture of the two, maybe flowers from the immediate family and donations from everybody else.
