No matter what your political leaning, I'm sure you'll find a blog here that suits your needs! Please feel free to add more political blogs and don't forget you upvote your favorites!
Few have heard of Politic-Ed, but those who have, know how in depth they tend to go.
The site is operated from in the UK, but focuses on UK-US issues and global issues, rather than just UK issues. For example, they recently covered the topic "Why do politicians always focus on the economy?" but they have also focused on the latest Brexit news, the latest news from the presidential race, and even the French presidential election!
They were only founded in June 2019, yet they have a loyal follower base and are currently looking to expand their site beyond just politics and into international affairs and diplomacy!
Politico has been the envy of all political blogs since the very beginning. It was founded in 2007 by Robert L. Allbritton, John F. Harris and Jim VandeHei. Since then, it has become the place for independent political news, free from what many call "Large media".
This is despite the fact that Capitol New Company (Politico's parent company) is a major news network in its own right.
Politico publishes news commentary and analysis focusing on literally anything politics:
You name it, chances are that Politico has done it!
Conservative Daily News, or CDN as it prefers to be known as, is, as the name suggests, a conservative blog. They are owned by Bald Eagle Media LLC , and founded by Rich Mitchell.
Their aim is to: "Spread the conservative way of thinking around the globe"
They claim to have no editorial policy, saying that "As long as it is something conservative readers are interested in, they get published"
Hot Air is too part of a media group- this time Townhall Media, which in turn is owned by Salem Media Group.
Hot Air is much like CDN- their aim is to spread the Conservative way of thinking around the globe and get more people believing in the conservative fashion.
Hot Air mainly focuses on US-based political issues rather than global ones, however, they have done articles in the past on topics such as Brexit, however, they are no where near as in depth as Politic-Ed or Politico
The American Thinker prides itself on the fact that it is the only mainstream Conservative blog that isn't owned by a large media company, despite the fact that it is a major conservative blog.
American Thinker was founded as a way to engage the American Conservative community and stop the spread of progressiveness.
As the name implies, the site only focuses on American politics, however, it has been known to run stories on Brexit and the like.
So far, we have only touched on conservative politics sites. Think Progress is often the go-to site for progressive thinkers due to its large amount of writers from various backgrounds.
Think Progress prides itself on the fact that it is one of the few sites not to be owned by a large media outlet!
The site often covers purely America-related content, however articles on polarizing issues such as Brexit are also common too!
Daily Kos is one of the oldest sites on the internet. And is one of the mos trusted political blogs on the planet! It is the brainchild of blogger Markos Moulitsas, is one of the oldest political blogs and is unashamedly liberal.
Vox is the key brand of Vox Media, one of the largest online media groups in the world!
Vox is one of the more left-leaning sites on the internet, with it being founded to serve that purpose.
Vox manages to attract a lot of young talent in the industry, having tempted Matt Yglesias, Ezra Klein and more to join Vox from media outlets like the Washington Post!
Boing Boing is your typical liberal blog. It often focuses on politics, but it also focuses on things like Tech, air travel and more!
However, the site seems to have gone downhill since its peak a few years ago- I would still recommend visiting the site though!
The National Review is one of the most respected political news/blog sites on the entire internet!
They mainly focus on American politics, however, some international politics is accepted due to the interconnectedness of global politics!
But there is one thing that sets this site out from the rest- it was founded in the 1950's. The rest of these sites were founded between 1990 and 2019, yet the National Review has managed to engage more audiences, where other media organizations have crumbled!
