Mataia comes from a football family and is an absolute disrupter on the defensive front. He will bring a winning attitude and mentality to the Wolves as Union HS rarely lost over the course of his career, winning a state title in 2018.
Western got a steal here. In my opinion one of the most slept on kids in the West. Has the potential of being the best athlete of the entire class. Earned 1st team All SWC honors playing with a non stop motor and junkyard dog type mentality.
Sparks is another 3* recruit. It's rare that D2s land a handful of nationally ranked kids but that's what WOU achieved. Chance had three consecutive 1000+ yard seasons, something very rare at any level. He was a multi year 1st team all conference athlete.
Western landed a pair of Hermiston kids with Coughlin possessing legit size and physicality. He is a winner in every sense of the word. Look for him to thrive in the Wolves system.
