Must visit Shopping Malls in Seoul, South Korea- Shop till you drop and more!

Seoul, the capital of South Korea, is the historical hub of the country and also the metropolitan capital centre. It is a shoppers' paradise! Here are places to satiate your inner shopaholic needs.

Myeongdong Market

This should be one of the things to do in Myenongdong This is the shopping centre of the capital with many shopping malls, department stores ad street-side shops. Your one-stop destination to get anything ranging from the popular Korean cosmetic supplies to accessories and jewellery! The market is walking distance away from Travelodge Myeongdong Euljiro, thus making it easily accessible for the many tourists who chose to stay here.
The market is open every day from 10 am until 1030 pm, though individual shops may have varying times.

Hongdae

This is a small region near the Hongik University and therefore, very popular among youths and students. Hongdae boasts an ambience that inspires and encourages freedom of self-expression, which is reflected in the presence of art galleries, music bars, and many cafes. The market is open from 9 am until midnight. However, from 1 pm to 6 pm is the best time to catch local artists' showoff their crafts and talents. Keep a lookout for any cultural events, festivals and street performances.

Starfield COEX Mall

This is considered to be Asia's largest underground shopping mall and is situated in a district called Gangnam. The mall houses various brands ranging from local to international and luxury labels. For those who are avid readers, be sure to check out the Starfield Library in the mall- an absolute paradise for all the bookworms out there! It consists of more than 50,000 titles neatly stacked in bookshelves that stand more than 12 metres high.
If you are travelling with children, the mall is quite kid-friendly and has an inhouse Lego paradise which will keep them intrigued and occupied. For those who love marine life, visit the Aquarium which has more than 500 species of aquatic life.

Mecenatpolis Mall

The mall is popular for its beautiful and vibrant space. A simple search on the internet will give you a series of creative pictures taken by the visitors of the umbrella roof, terraced balconies, rooftop gardens, and glass bridges. All of this can be enjoyed by sitting at one of the many international or local restaurants- a feast to the eyes and taste buds! The Mall is also known to host exhibitions and music performances, so do keep an eye out for it.
Opening hours are from 10 in the morning until midnight.

Insa-dong

If you wish to scour around for traditional teahouses and antique shops, this is where you should head. With more than 100 art galleries, you will find many traditional art pieces. Visit the district during the weekends when the entire alleyways are turned into a lively carnival-like space- with paintings lining the streets, live bands belting out their favourite tunes and food stalls stirring up their crowd favourite menus- an experience that will leave you wanting more.
