The Horton Plains national park and the world's end

Located at the southern part of the country, you will find that Horton Plains National Park is a vast 1000 metres green area in Sri Lanka. More than the wildlife attractions within this park, the people visit the area just for the views and the landscape. The scenery is obviously the highlight and main attraction of the park. The best time to visit this park for the best kind of views is in the early morning from 6 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The park has many excellent hiking opportunities and the most popular hike people take is a 9 kilometre one that takes you to the World's End. This is one of the most stunning viewpoints in the country as the cliff just drops down to the plains below. Lipton's seat

Located just outside of the town of Haputale, this was the favourite spot of the popular Thomas Lipton after whom the place is named. From this seat, you will be able to see the beautiful tea estates below along with the misty hills and the mountains that surround the area. People say that Thomas used to ride on his horse every evening, get to the viewpoint and spend a few hours here.

Ella

This is the most photographed places in all of Sri Lanka and if you are active on social media, you definitely would have seen the bridge with arches in it and a train going over it. Many people do drastic stunts while trying to get the best picture of this place but it is advisable that you do not try it as it is dangerous and if you fall down it is quite a long drop. Ella has many other viewpoints and hikes for you to attempt too. The best time to climb the mountains in the area is to time it so you can catch the sunrise or the sunset.

Knuckles range

Named as such because it looks like a folded hand and the knuckles above it from afar, this mountain range is a popular hiking destination for the locals in the country. The people of the country also refer to this place as the misty mountains. If you love unspoilt natural attractions this is the place for you to go to. The views from this place are definitely amazing and you will be able to see for miles on all sides after you climb to the peak.

Adam's peak

This is one popular climb and everyone who is anyone in Sri Lanka would have attempted this climb at least once in their life. This also was one of the mountains that were harmonious with all the religions in the country but now it has been made completely Buddhist.
