I'm a wedding photographer so I've been to a lot of weddings, plus I'm also married myself! Over the years I've noticed what makes an awesome day and so I thought I'd compile a list to help others. Here's 'how to make the most of your wedding day!'

You'll make a ton of memories on your day but a good photographer will capture so many more. Someone with experience can also help the day flow and won't take up too much of your time.

There's a ton of planning that goes into a wedding day but when it finally comes around it's important you just go with the flow and get lost in it. It'll fly past but that's why you have a photographer!
Read the blog post 'How to deal with the pressure and potential stresses of a Wedding, don't let it ruin your day!' It's full of tips to help you get the most out of your day (by also reducing stress!).
The biggest way in which rain will spoil your day is if you let it. Embrace it, dance in it! Keep a smile on your face and it won't matter nearly as much as you think it might.
A good wedding day flies by in an instant, so take a moment together to appreciate it. I like to take couples away for photos but give them space for the first couple of minutes to just take it all in and relax a little.
One of my favourite memories from my wedding is hearing the atmosphere of the guests from a distance and just walking back to everybody holding hands with my new wife.
Group shots can really suck up precious time you could be talking to guests and enjoying yourselves. I recommend keeping the list to 6 - 10 and asking your ushers to help find people so that the photographer can shoot away. If done right it can take 10 - 15 mins but if guests are hard to find it could be 40 minutes plus!
There are so many amazing ideas out there nowadays. Look at websites, blogs and magazines for inspiration; here's my website.
The ring is chosen, the proposal accepted, and wedding plans are underway. It’s an exciting time – but have you stopped to consider whether you're ...
It's very easy to see all of the wonderful things you could do for your wedding but then get a little down that you can't afford them. It sounds cliche but those things are likely not what would make your day special, it's the people around you, and how you choose to celebrate with them. One of the highlights from my wedding was something as small as dancing with my cousin - I never planned for it, it didn't cost anything but that little bit of magic helped make the day for me.
Destination weddings can be pretty special and sometimes they're no more costly than if you'd had it at home, shop around as you might be surprised!

Unless it's going to cause giants riffs only invite who you want to be there. Often parents would like various friends to attend but if you don't get on with them invite another one of yours instead!
The earlier you can book your suppliers the more options you'll have as many wedding venues and photographers get booked up over a year in advance, sometimes two!
