Iversen's fledgling career began in his native Denmark with Esbjerg. Former Miller Kari Arnason also had a brief stint at the Danish Superliga side back in 2009. During Iversen's time at the club, Ebsjerg were mostly stuck in mid-table in Denmark's top division. They suffered relegation to the Danish 2nd tier in 2016/17, but they earned promotion back to the top tier at their first attempt. In their Danish Superliga return season in 2018/19, they had their best league finish since 2003/04. Ebsjerg ended up 3rd just behind Copenhagen and Midtjylland, which earned them a place in the Europa League Second Qualifying Round.

Leicester City in recent years have done some remarkable moves in the transfer market as a result of their great scouting network. They have managed to pick out the likes of N'Golo Kante, Wilfred Ndidi, Riyad Mahrez and Çağlar Söyüncü for small fees before they have caught the eye of Europe's biggest clubs. Daniel Iversen will definitely be added to this list if his career carries on with its current trajectory.

In the summer of 2018, Leicester rewarded Iversen with a new four-year-contract, which will see him remain with the Foxes until at least 2022. This goes to show just how well-regarded the 'keeper is at his parent club, even if he is yet to make a senior appearance for them. Iversen is still only 22 and he has many years still ahead of him. With Kasper Schmeichel's career edging nearer to a close, Iversen could be a prime contender to become their new number one in a few years.

Iversen signed for Oldham Athletic in the summer of 2018/19 in his first loan spell away from Leicester. He was a mainstay in the Latics side all-campaign, as he made a total of 49 appearances in all competitions for them. One of his most impressive games for the club came as Oldham knocked out Premier League side Fulham in the FA Cup 3rd Round. Iverson was one of the heroes as he saved an 85th minute Aleksandar Mitrović penalty to keep his side in it before Callum Lang sealed it for Oldham as he scored an 88th minute winner to make it 2-1.

Iversen has represented his country at every youth level from U16-U21. His fine form for Oldham resulted in him being picked as number one for Denmark in last summer's U21 European Championships. Denmark narrowly missed out on a place in the knockout stages as they finished 2nd in their group with six points behind Germany with seven. But Iversen performed well in each game, and he saved a penalty as Denmark beat Austria 3-1 in their second group game. Rotherham's stopper received his first senior call-up in September 2019 and given his great form this season in a Millers shirt, he has a real chance of making it into Denmark's 2020 European Championship squad.
