List of Free Things to do in Vancouver – Vancouver without busting the bank

Vancouver is a city that is truly alive. There are simply so many things to do which makes this city one place you must visit. But if you're thinking this trip is going to bust the bank think again.

1

Visit Granville Island

Once a very industrious part of the city; Granville Island has since mellowed out considerably and is now anchored in the arts and crafts community giving the island a very laid-back atmosphere. This is one of the best places in Vancouver to visit as a family. Pan Pacific Vancouver is one of the best hotels Downtown Vancouver has to offer and is only a short distance away from Granville Island many other free attractions in the city.

2

Hang out in Stanley Park

Stanley Park is Vancouver's pride and joy. It is a favourite gathering place for the locals and the park is bustling with people in the evenings; not in a crowded way mind you. If you visit take a stroll down the seawall and maybe sit on the lawn and enjoy a nice picnic in the evening.

People watch in Vancouver

Vancouver is a bustling city and home to all sorts of people. What better way to get to know the vibe of the city than walking in around in its popular neighbourhoods. Check out the city's many cafes and have a nice day people watching in Vancouver.

4

Hike the Grouse Grind

If you're the outdoorsy type the hike up the Grouse Grind will be right up your alley but even if you're not it's quite worth it, the views at the top are stunning. Your muscles might not be singing your praises the next day but you won't regret it – guaranteed.

5

Go Celeb – Spotting

Celeb spotting is quite fun but requires a little planning – which makes it more fun to be honest. A little digging on the internet and you can easily zero-in on a few hotspots where stars hangout. And while seeing the city you can also catch a glimpse of a celebrity as well.

6

Visit the Christ Church Cathedral

Christ Church Cathedral is classified as a Class A Heritage Site and with good reason – it is a beautiful piece of architecture designed in a Gothic Revival style. The interior has many wondrous stained glass windows, intricately designed arches and giant ceiling beams of Douglas fir.

7

Mountain Biking on the North Shore

Vancouver is a beautiful place blessed by nature you could say. Spend a day mountain biking on the North Shore and breathe in the fresh air and just get lost with your thoughts. Sometimes the simplest things are the best way to enjoy a place.
