Design and its various elements of study
Design as an area of study aims to build experiential solutions and problem-solving skills in the students with the help of technology or otherwise. This is a 4-year program designed for students to pass the NPAT 2020 conducted by NMIMS where the first two years of study of Design in India focuses on the development of skills that are required for designers and the latter two years hones the required skills sets for students. Hence the entire stint of 4 years can be divided into two stages-
Stage 1-comprising of two years where the focus is to help students develop the various aspects of design. The first two years comprises two years where the Foundation program focuses on the development of skills that is required for design. This involves focus and study of typography, photography, drawing, design language.
Stage 2- Comprises of the third and the fourth year. Apart from academics, students have to compulsorily undertake a one-and a half month stint at an NGO as well as complete a 6-month self-initiated internship program and a research paper.
