Banana Boats

This is one of the most fun activities to try as a family if you're visiting Abu Dhabi. Sit on this giant inflated tube that skims across the water at a very high speed you can make a game out of it and see who can stay on the longest. Dragon Boating

This is a great team-building exercise and requires a lot of mental and physical strength and is generally not for the everyday traveller but it is nevertheless an option that is available.

This is a very innovative activity you should definitely try out. A Flyboard is connected to the motor of speed boat which then pumps a stream of high-pressured water which propels you into the air. Kayaking is a great option if you want to have a bit of relaxation with a great workout. There are many clubs which offer kayaking tours. Spend a day weaving through the Mangrove National Park and try to spot flamingos and other local fauna.



Since the UAE doesn't have the best conditions for surfing many other alternatives have popped up to take its place. Kitesurfing is one of the more popular activities that fall into the same category. A mix of parasailing and surfing, kitesurfing involves you being pulled by a large kite as you glide across the water on your board.



Abu Dhabi waters do have their fair share of action when it comes to surfing though it can be hard to find big waves. However, if you want something a bit extreme you can visit Al Ains Wadi Adventure to have a go on their artificial simulator which undoubtedly has the best waves for surfing in the region.



If you need a rush and surfing simply won't cut it, try wakeboarding. This is super fast and will require some hardcore arm strength. Balance on a Wakeboard as you get pulled along by a speedboat, you can try to do some tricks which may result in a few falls but its super fun.
