Quite like the Museum of Islamic Arts, Qatar National Museum is designated with the upkeep of Islamic culture. The museum is the second largest museum in Doha and offers tourists a journey through history – the place started receiving visitors on 28 March 2019. The architecture of the museum was done by Jean Nouvel, who was inspired by desert rose crystal. With an enormous display of relics and artefacts, the place is an integral part of Qatar's tourist scene – the collection of artefacts includes articles pertaining to the natural history of the desert, Bedouin culture, tribal wars and the early stages of Qatari state. The museum was offered an award for the rehabilitation of Islamic architecture in 1980. The keeper of Arabian culture, the museum hosts several events throughout the year – when planning your trip to Qatar, make sure you visit the city around the time of these events. According to Time Magazine, the new Qatar National Museum is one of the greatest places to visit.
