This is a spot you must visit if you love nature, engineering or just Sri Lanka. This used to be the family home of the observed and well known Srilankan architect and planner, Geoffrey Bawa. The Gardens are found about half an hour away from the coast. If you are staying at one of the Bentota hotels the likes of Cinnamon Bey Beruwala, this is not too far for you. Being an enormous place to explore, there are many things for you to look at and the marvel inside this attraction. You must make sure you take a look at all the structures and the design elements that can be found in each and every corner of this Garden.
This lighthouse is one of the four global icons in Sri Lanka of its kind. Located just off the coast in the area, it is based on the island of its namesake. The beacon is more than a hundred feet tall and is made of just white rock. Established in the year 1889, this lighthouse belongs to the Imperial Lighthouse service. The best thing about the structure is that it is in use even today. But you cannot go near the structure or take a look at it up close, you can still look at you from afar.
Being an island, this is one of the must-do things when you are on a holiday in Sri Lanka. Any beach holiday is incomplete if you have not partaken in at least one or more of the water sport activities available here. You can try your hands at Scuba Diving, snorkelling, Banana Boat riding or kayaking.

Every stone and gem will have a story of their own because most of these jewellery store owners have their own mines and methods of mining. If you visit one of the shops, you will be able to see the absolute most valuable stones in the country and you will also be able to see how they are cut and cleaned.
Located on the banks of the river with a similar name, this is a tiny little Mountain that is found in the southern part of Sri Lanka. Many climbers and the locals maintain this area even to this day. You will find the sanctuary at the peak of this mountain and a climb to this would take you about an hour or less. Depending on your fitness level it might take you longer. The view on the way up and once you reach the peak is extremely entrancing. You will also see a lot of wildlife that are running free on your way up there. From the peak of the Mountain, you will be able to see the sea and the town below.
