Here are the top 10 features that home buyers look for when shopping for a house.
The kitchen is seen as the focal point of any house. I want a kitchen that has space, character and warmth. The kitchen is most important to me.
Updated fixtures, modern conveniences and a little warmth and space go a long way. A nice bathroom ranks at the top of my list.
Still the top of everyone\'s list is a great location. Safe neighbourhood, close proximity to schools, backing onto a park....everyone has their own idea of a perfect location, but whatever it is.....location is still key, and I need a great location.
Does the house have old, single-pane sliders, or new and modern tri-pane PVC windows? Are the windows in good condition? Buyers know that replacing windows can be very expensive, so nice modern windows are important to me!
I need room to roam. A back yard where my dog can run and my kids can hide....property size is important to me!
Will I need to spend a lot of time and money fixing old mistakes? Or is the house ready to move in. I'm not very handy, and I need a place thats move-in-ready.
Does the house have a new, modern, high-efficiency furnace, or does it still rely on the 80-yr old boiler which is the size of a small car? I know that replacing a furnace can be a major expense.
I need sufficient bedrooms to house their family. Plus the bedrooms need to be large enough to hold modern-day furniture, such as Kind-sized beds. So the number and size of the bedrooms are of most importance to me
Are bungalows more desirable than split-level homes? Some buyers prefer an open layout, or more of a traditional style? Whatever the answer, the style of home is important to me.
As a buyer, I want a good deal before I make an offer on a house. Saving money is of prime importance to me! I'll only buy if I can get a bargain.
Truth be told, I love my cars..... wouldn\'t want them to suffer outdoors. So a large garage is what gets me excited.
