I tried.
It's more comfortable to conclude. The sooner we "wrap up" our thoughts about a circumstance that we didn't like or we're uncomfortable about - the sooner we feel safe.
At the same time, the minute we wrap it up - we stop learning. We miss the tension that comes from things being "amiss" and interrupt the natural "human" experience of being.
It's at this point that we use these ideas as a "get out of life - free" card. They give us permission to explain way the reason that we're not engaging and giving ourselves over to the moment at hand.
