Ways to Show Another that you SEE THEM!
Notice something that is small and unimportant about them - that you'd otherwise miss in the grander scheme of everyday life.
Appreciate their Life's journey. Where they started, the specific challenges, their capacity and effort. How they managed it....
Bring them their favorite "treat." Nothing speaks to the inner child and says, "You matter!" like remembering someone's favorite food.
Stop and talk when you notice their energy dip. This is so important, "Does anyone notice me? Do I even matter in the space?" When we pause from our daily routine long enough to observe a change in another - we are really noticing them. Telling them makes it all the better.
Appreciate who they've been in your life. The one moment that they made a particular difference when no one else could've. Even a moment that was difficult.
Acknowledge how they handled a circumstance - be in awe of some quality they brought and probably thought nothing of.
Be inconvenienced - go out of your way - disrupt your life - on their behalf.
During their sharing of an activity or experience - explore more - inquire - put yourself into the world that they have given you a small taste of.
Tell them why you love them or like them or find them intriguing or exciting or compelling or generous... Be specific and sit in all of those luscious feelings.
Apologize for not seeing them before. Speak about moments when they didn't matter, you were too busy to make time for their needs, their feelings, wants and dreams. Stand squarely in, "I see that you didn't matter at that time."
