The Stone Forest

The Flower And Bird Market Of Kunming

This lovely precinct is found on Yongdao Street just 14 minutes from Grand Park Kunming, if you are looking for a hotel in the heart of Kunming. One of the best attractions in downtown Kunming this market was setup in 1980 and was first for the purpose of selling pets, birds, goldfish and flowers. However, like the parks, popularity increased it soon turned into a huge tourist attraction cum leisure precinct where people go to enjoy the colourful surroundings, chill and check out the cute critters.

The Grand View Tower

This attraction too is close to your Kunming city hotel and is located on Daguan Road. The Grand View Tower or Daguan Lou is perched at the edge of pretty Dianchi Lake. The tower had humble beginnings when a monk decided to erect a small temple there in 1682; later in 1690 the Yunnan Provinces administrator being highly impressed by the stunning views at the location went ahead and built a huge park around the humble temple. The place was enhanced with rockeries, pavilions, bonsai groves, terraces and lush forests.

The Golden Temple

This temple is located within the Jindian Park of Kunming. The Golden Temple is an active Taoist Temple and most noted for its traditional architectural styles. The place boasts sixteen pillars, traditional altars, altar hangings and vintage statues all symbolising Chinese traditions and customs.
