Being one of the oldest buildings in the area this place was recently renovated and is now known as the parliament of Mauritius. Another place you must check out when in the capital of Mauritius is fort Adelaide. This Fort is located on a tiny mountain and lets you look down at the harbour and the City. The fort was built and completed in the year 1840 and its main purpose was to protect the city against riots. These riots happened during the end of slavery. During your visit to the capital in Mauritius, you will find that a lot of international and local concerts are being performed here. You must also keep aside time to visit the Natural History Museum which was founded by the Natural History Society of Mauritius. This Museum is home to more than 35,000 specimens.
