On this board you will see what I want my future kindergarten classroom to look like. The type of technology I plan on using as well as the layout and design of the classroom as a whole
Ideally personal ones where they can take them home and work on homework or just play around and get more comfortable working with technology
While Chromebooks will be nice to take home and use most of the time in class, especially for independent work. In an ideal world with an unlimited budget I would also like to use iPads for group work and different lessons as a change of pace and scenery to keep my students engaged.
A perfect vision of my ideal classroom. A bright space where there is plenty of space, different options for seating and bright colors without being too overwhelming and in your face. As well as something that is very organized and easy to keep clean for both me and the students. Obviously, theres no guarantee I will get a wall full of windows but you know, in a perfect world.
This is a blog post about using google classroom in a kindergarten classroom. I think this would be a really helpful first step for me in creating and working with my students to make Google tools work to them!
Two different seats in one chair! Easy to store too. This would be a nice treat to bring out at the end of every month/marking period. Something to add a little variety to the seating.
Cheap and easy way to provide flexible seating anywhere
I really like the different options there are in this classroom. Some couches, some floor mats, bean bags, and stools. All with different types of accommodations for writing during class. I would like a set up similar like this for my classroom and each week kids get to rotate to a different station.
This is a video about the iPad add on called Osmo! Osmo is a tool that you attach to the top of an iPad, right over the camera that allows students to use their iPads and physical manipulatives to learn and complete online lessons. I think Osmo is a very cool way to integrate technology while not fully replacing the physical, hands on side of the classroom.
A good flexible seating option for group or individual work with a clipboard.
Really like the bright colors. Again, there's a nice variety of seating arrangements and views of the classrooms.
The rechargeable Bee-Bot is a precision floor robot made to offer very young children their first programming challenge. The Bee-Bot is outside of what our normal view of technology in the classroom is making it so much more exciting! Watching the video above you can see a few different way that the Bee-Bot can be used. The same company also sells many different mats and even a blank grid overlay that you can use so you can really use the Bee-Bot to help kids learn anything.
