Built during the years 1561 to 1566, this was a private library that was used by the people of the Ming dynasty. Nowadays you will find books that cover various topics that amount to about three hundred thousand copies. These books cover the whole Ming dynasty history along with a few other dynasties. The library is about 16,000 square metres big and is divided into three main areas, one for book storing, one for gardening and the final one for exhibits.

This town is found about 10 kilometres away from the Ningbo city and is named honouring a loving mother and her doting son. The locals take the time and tell you the story of this place and how it came to be what it is today, with much pride. This town is also known to be the most charming ancient area in this part of China.
