The official causes, however, have not been confirmed. Further research is being conducted in an attempt to provide more definitive answers.
Sensory Processing Disorder or Dysfunction is a condition in which the brain is unable to organize sensory input in a way that facilitates appropriate responses. Lucy Jane Miller, OTR defines SPD as “A neurophysiologic condition in which sensory input either from the environment or from one’s body is poorly detected, modulated, or interpreted and/or to which atypical responses are observed. (Miller 2013)”
