Being the second biggest city in the North of China, Tianjin has a lot to offer to its travellers.

Located right by the riverside area in Tianjin, this hotel will give you amazing coffee as well as great views. There is also a museum that can be found within the hotel which showcases the history of the city and the things that took place here to make it what it is today. History also says that the first lift and first-ever phone in China were used at this hotel. The best time to visit this place is during the evening to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea.

The Great Wall

Compared to the other parts of the great wall in cities like Beijing for instance, parts of the wall that is found in the east mountain area is quieter and sees lesser crowds. The wall here reaches an altitude of about 750 metres and is home to 14 watch Towers and 66 Towers. There is a part of the wall here that the locals fondly call music wall as it makes an interesting sound when you step on it which sounds similar to the piano keys. This Wall area in China is a great photographic opportunity, especially during the sunset.

The Ferris Wheel

Known as the Eye of Tianjin, this Ferris Wheel is the only one in the world that has been built on a bridge. A Ferris Wheel is something that usually makes you feel like you have no control over what is happening and you hang in mid-air within a cage, but imagine this experience on top of a bridge! This Ferris Wheel offers 30-minute rides which give you an overall mind-blowing view of the city below. Having a diameter of about hundred metres, when you get right to the top part of this Ferris wheel you will be about 120 metres above ground which is equal to being on the 35th floor of any building. The view that you will be able to see from the top of the Ferris Wheel goes up to 40 kilometres on all sides. This is yet another great place to take amazing aerial photographs of the city.

The Cultural Square

If you want to know more about the fine architectures and other aspects of this city visit the cultural square. Located right opposite the main railway station in Tianjin, quite a lot of people go there in the evenings to chill and unwind. You can explore the place by walking around it or by taking a river cruise. During the cruise, you will be able to spot the natives of the area fishing, and you will also see a few people swimming or having beautiful photoshoots by the river bank. This also makes for a great photographic backdrop because of the European style buildings found around the river. If your vacation falls during the winter this river will be frozen and is open for ice skating.
