You need about 1 to 2 hours to fully explore this place which is located on the south coast of Xiamen Island. The Fortress was built to guard the shores and has been doing so for more than 100 years now. As a result, the fortress has been conceived as a significant historical landmark and is preserved by the government. Hulishan Fortress was established back in the year 1894 during the Qing Dynasty and played an important role in defending the country against the Japanese invaders back in the 1900s. There is so much to see out here, including the due castle that sits across 13,000 m², an ammunition depot, barracks, sentry platform, and also a commanding tower.
