South Putuo Temple

Hulishan Fortress

You need about 1 to 2 hours to fully explore this place which is located on the south coast of Xiamen Island. The Fortress was built to guard the shores and has been doing so for more than 100 years now. Hulishan Fortress was established back in the year 1894 during the Qing Dynasty and played an important role in defending the country against the Japanese invaders back in the 1900s. There is so much to see out here, including the due castle that sits across 13,000 m², an ammunition depot, barracks, sentry platform, and also a commanding tower.

Earth Buildings of Yongding

If you are an admirer of architecture, then the Earth Buildings of Yongding is the place you need to be at when in Xiamen. Long ago, the Hakka people were forced to evacuate their premises at the plains of the Yellow River by the ongoing war at the time. The painful past experiences of persecution, perhaps, made them construct tall fortresses in order to protect themselves. The Tulou or the earth buildings were built by them and is a heritage-listed site that attracts many tourists across the world. Mount Wuyi

Well, if you're looking to surround yourself amongst beautiful natural sceneries then the Mt Wuyi situated in the Fujian Province is a must. You will need a full day out here to explore the place.
