Every year big car companies like Ford, Lexus, and Altima come up when the new and improved versions of their vehicles. This year, our advanced technology has allowed many companies to focus all their ingenuity on creating convenient and advanced new features. Many of these features allow drivers to: be more comfortable in their vehicles, operate their vehicles with ease, and focus on being safe on the road. Below I have listed the top four most unique and evolved features on the market today.
The refreshed 2013 Lexus LS 460 and the LS 600h L. allows users to set the temperature they would like there seat to be. The two front seats include auto control settings; the car will heat and cool your backside according to the temperature you’ve set.
On those days when you feel like a one-woman circus as you juggle kids, grocery bags, your purse and your son’s hockey bag, it seems like no matter how hard you focus the keys are always just a couple centimeters away. However, thanks to new helpful innovation, there is now another solution to getting that car door open. The redesigned BMW 3 Series Wagon, Ford Escape and Ford C-Max offer a touchless power liftgate and trucklid. As long as the remote is on your person or in your purse, briefly extending either foot under the rear bumper of the car will trigger a sensor and open the door.
Cadillac is trying a different way to warn drivers that they are moving into a lane where another driver is already occupied. Instead of alarms and warning lights, they are trying the Safety Alert Seat, which vibrates on the side of the driver seat that corresponds to the threat. If you wander too far to the left the seat vibrates on the left. Although most of these new features are only offered in luxury cars, there’s something for people looking at Ford Escapes and Honda Accords too. Many of the new features are only in one or two models for 2013, but are likely to be more common in vehicles in the near future.
If you’re looking to buy a Honda or a Ford, listen up. Honda just went ahead and placed small cameras on the passenger-side outside mirror of the 2013 Honda Accord. The little camera is strategically placed to capture video of cars and bikes in your blind spot. The images are then projected onto the Accord’s central display screen whenever you flip on your right turn signal. Honda is calling this blind-spot camera system LaneWatch.
