The 5 Best Beaches in Phuket - Indulge in the Ultimate Beach Experience

The island off the Andaman Coast is famous for her natural beauty, abundant marine life, water sports and of course her stunning beaches!

1

Freedom Beach

It is a pristine and secluded beach near Patong set amidst a bay overlooking lush forestry. The 300-meter coastline is free from all the usual tourist trappings such as vendors, hawkers, loud cafes and bars. However the location is not easily accessible, the easiest way to reach this little paradise is to catch a Long-Tail boat from Patong Beach, which comes at a steep price, of over 1000-1500 baht for a ten-minute journey. Alternatively, if you are fit enough you can walk to the beach, the journey back and forth will be quite demanding but worth it. There is one restaurant for the whole beach and limited facilities but you can rent bath towels, sun-loungers, and umbrellas for the day.

2

Kata Noi Beach

Kata Noi or ''little Kata ''is one of the best beaches on the island, located south of the main Kata Beach. This 700-meter coastline of crystal clear waters are studded with stunning scenery around its bay. Further, there are plenty of restaurants, bars, and night-spots. The rocky headlands around the bay make it an ideal spot for diving and during the low season a popular destination for surfing.

3

Paradise Beach

True to its namesake this little paradise is located right across Patong Bay. Though small in size this 150 meters of coast-line is very popular among tourists. Paradise beach is surrounded by coconut and almond trees, and large granite rocks at both ends of the beach. There are coral reefs along 100 metres out into the sea. This beach has a calm and peaceful vibe as jet-skis are not encouraged making it for relaxing beach experience, though there is a fee required to be paid for entrance.

4

Bangtao Beach

It is the longest coastline in Phuket at 6km and along this stretch; you will encounter the best accommodation on the island. However, the northern end of Bangtao beach is still relatively untouched by constructions. Anantara Layan Phuket Resort is located close to this end and is a luxury villa Phuket has to offer and a good option for a secluded beach experience. However, if you want a change of atmosphere there are plenty of attractions, bars, and clubs around Bangatao beach to keep you entertained.

5

Ya Nui Beach

One of Phuket's smallest beaches but exceedingly popular owing to its beautiful sand, sea and fantastic scenery. Ya Nui is situated close to two of Phuket's panoramic viewpoints, Phrom Thep and Windmill viewpoint. A small island called Koh Keyao Noi stands around 700 meters into the sea, on a clear day it is possible to swim up to it and explore the corals surrounding it. The beach is speckled with rocky boulders, which are easy and fun to climb and the perfect spot for a good photo session. Snorkelling and kayaking are popular here as well and there are plenty of restaurants, bars, and accommodation close to the beach.
