The HRV unit gets rid of this excess heat. The end result is that you receive a continuous fresh air supply, which increases the comfort level within the home.

A clean indoor environment is of great importance because of the time that you spend in your home. The indoor air that you breathe should be fresh otherwise you can get respiratory problems. The only way to improve the continuous supply of fresh air is via effective ventilation. Places such as an indoor pool requires most of the ventilation due to the presence of water vapour and moisture which leads to decaying of walls and roof.

The ERV systems work to maintain a healthy living environment by removing the excess level of humidity from the air. These systems are capable to maintain indoor humidity levels at optimum values and allow the heating and cooling system to work with great effectiveness without consuming much energy. These systems recover up to 70 percent energy from the air and transfer that energy to the fresh air.

The European erv systems consist of inlets and outlets on both sides and are designed for two-way ventilation to supply fresh air. These devices are equipped with a fan that fetches outdoor air into the unit and passes it through a standard air filter. It also works to draws indoor air into the unit to blow it outside through an exhaust.

The idea of a passive house comes from Swedish and German academics from the late 1980s, developing concepts of housing in Europe, encouraging ultra-low energy consumption while still allowing for high air quality in and around the home.
