Galle Fort

The Galle Fort is undoubtedly one of the most interesting architectural creations in the history of Sri Lanka. The Galle Fort which was originally built by the Dutch is an amazing creation to date. Inside the fort has now been transformed into a picturesque area to walk, shop and eat while witnessing the stunning views of the Indian Ocean.

Sigiriya

Sigiriya rock fortress is considered the 8th world wonder and those who visit it understand why it is said so. Built by the King Kasyapa, the Sigiriya rock fortress played the role of a palace for the said king when he was trying to stay away from his enemies. From the top of the fortress, you get to see a vast area of the country including the Sigiriya jungles. Dalada Maligawa

The Temple of the Tooth Relic or the Dalada Maligawa is one of the most popular tourist attractions on the island. The building which used to serve as a palace for the kinds of the Mahanuwara Rajadaniya was later refurbished and named as the Temple of the Tooth relic and a Buddhist temple.

Dambulla cave temple

The Dambulla Cave temple is a great example of the developed technology from back in the day. It is astounding to see the creations made by man in the past with little technology and fewer tools than today. The natural rock formation has a path leading inside it where you can see drawings, sculptures and a pagoda built many years ago. Currently known as the Dambulla Golden temple, it attracts many people from around the world.

The Nine Arch Bridge in Ella is an absolutely delightful creation. It is made in a curved structure and has nine arches underneath the bridge. The speciality about the bridge is that it has a rail track on it and a tunnel soon after the bridge, surrounded by mountains and forests. Renowned as one of the most exotic locations on the island, many people go to the bridge in order to be able to witness a train passing over it. Some visitors are known to stay for hours in order to witness a train passing by.
