As a winner amongst the most notable temples in all of Thailand, Wat Prathat Doi Suthep is a must not miss attraction in Chiang Mai. Involving a cloud touching statue surrounded by mountains, the view takes you back to 1386. Having a detailed marble patio and an amazing chedi, the temple is seen after you climb about 300 steps on a mountain. On the way to the top, you will also pass the Monthathal Falls.
You can get to the zoo by a cable car ride or through the monorail. A wide species of wildlife call this area at the base of Doi Suthep their home. Ideal for nature lovers, the zoos huge animal shelters imitate the actual environment out in the wild. One of its main attractions is definitely the two giant pandas from China and along with their babies.
Located at the most popular part of Chiang Mai, Wat Chedi Luang is another famous temple and pagoda in Lanna. Back in 1441, the temple was built at a height of 91 metres. The Wat Chedi Luang's pagoda's height reduced to a large much smaller size because of an earthquake during the end of the sixteenth century.

As the most experienced religious organization in Chiang Mai, Wat Chiang Man was built not long after the city was set up in 1296. A must see the memorable site in the town, the attraction is a standout amongst the most photographed sights in all of Chiang Mai. Home to two Buddha statues that goes back about 2000 years, the area also showcases Lanna artworks.
