Former CNN chief Eason Jordan says he's willing to come up to talk to us, and I have a few other people in mind (including some of us.) I think this would be fun to put together -- and potentially a revenue stream if we do it right.
I've been a reader of Muckrack for a long time but had no idea they now are a platform to find and pitch journalists. Let's take a hard look at it.
I've learned that I need to use social media for work more - and I plan to start by trying to Tweet 3 times a day.
I also think we should use video tools like Vine (which takes 6 sec. videos) or Tout (which takes 15 sec. videos) to send out short videos of CUMC events, like the NIH funding press briefing, the White Coat Ceremony, Match Day, etc.

With Michele's editorial guidance, I can begin tweeting "greatest hits" of the Weekly Media Report as I create the document. This way, a wider circle of people can learn of CUMC-in-the-news in a more timely fashion.

I can scan my LinkedIn contacts for folks in news organizations. I would bring whoever turns up-- reporters, writers, editors-- to the attention of Karin and Elizabeth, who would then have a primed audience for their pitched stories.

Periodically, I'd like to attend Grand Rounds. In anticipation of a talk, I could use CUMC's Twitter handle to spread the word. This could potentially widen the audience for such events.
